Clearing a cell of its data is quite simple in Excel. There are several methods in which one can delete information within a cell.

• Click in a cell and once it is highlighted, just press the Delete key on the keyboard.
• Click in a cell and go to the Formula bar. Press the Delete or Backspace keys until the data is cleared.
• Click in a cell and go to Edit on the menu bar and select Clear. Choose what information you want to delete.

• Right-click on a cell and select Clear Contents.

 

To clear data from multiple cells, move your mouse over the first cell within the group. A fat plus sign should be seen. Now, click and drag that fat plus sign over the selected cells until they are highlighted (grayed out). Then, use one of the methods mentioned above (easiest way is to press the Delete key).
