There are two ways in which the columns and rows can be resized. One way is by manually changing the column or row with the mouse and the other is by using the toolbar.

To change the width using the mouse, move your mouse over the column (letters) or row (numbers) headings. As soon as you see the mouse pointer change into a two-sided arrow like the picture below, you are ready to change the width. Just click and drag the mouse until you reach the desired the width.

 

To change the width using the toolbar, first click on the row or column to be changed. Then, go to Format in the toolbar and move the mouse until you see the Column or Row option.

When you move the mouse over Column or Row, a popup window will appear with several options. Click Width and a Column or Row Width dialog window will appear. Here, just change the number to adjust the size of the column(s) or row(s). Greater the number, greater the width.
