There are two ways in which animated objects can be ordered. The first way is
by arranging certain objects in front or behind another. The second way is the
change the order in which object appear on the slide such as the title entering
the slide first, then all the images, and then the body text. These two methods
are explained in this section.
Images can be arranged or layered by bringing them to the front or pushed toward the back. To do this, right-click on the selected image, picture, ClipArt, or draw object. In the pop-up menu, select Order and choose your option.
If you select the first two options, Bring to Front and Send to Back, PowerPoint will either send that object all the way to the front or all the way to the back. If you choose the second two options, Bring Forward or Send Backward, you will either send the image up one level or back one level. This is different from sending the image all the way to the back or to the front. It allows you more control over how images will be layered.
Images can also appear on the slide in ordered sequence. Go to Slide Show then to Custom Animation. In the Timing tab, your images should be classified as Objects or as Picture Frames with a number next to them. Click on each Object # to see which number represents each image. The Animation order box lists the objects and text that are to appear on the slide in hierarchical order.
In the illustration below, the order sequence is: Picture 4 first, Picture 3 second, title third, and then text fourth. Look at the Animation order window to see that sequence.
So, if you want to rearragne the above order so that the title will appear first, then picture 3, then picture 4, and finally, the text, one would have to follow the given steps:
