ELECTRONIC PRESENTATIONS
Working with a Blank Presentation

Once you initiated the program and selected the Blank Presentation mode, a dialog box will ask you which Slide Layout to choose. Most likely, one would select the first layout for the title slide.

A blank, white slide should now be present with text placeholders for entering text.

To add text, just click within the placeholder and the area will become highlighted. Once highlighted, type the text. To get out of the placeholders, click on any unoccupied space. To go back to the editing mode to change, add, or delete text, just click on the text and the placeholder should appear.

Placeholders could also serve to hold pictures, charts, and tables. Generally, these placeholders will appear when you have selected that particular Slide Layout. If you did select a layout that has one of these placeholders, just double-click within the placeholder and the program will initiate (e.g., ClipArt Gallery, Insert Chart, Insert Table). Like before, click outside of the picture, chart or table to end the editing mode. If you want to change things later, just click back on the picture, chart, or table.

To add bulleted items, just type in the text you want for the first line and press the ENTER key on the keyboard. A bullet will automatically appear in the second line, ready for the new line of text. Just repeat the process for each bulleted item.

To create sub-points, press the TAB key on the keyboard to change to the Second Level (main points are First Level). The bulleted line will become indented and the text will appear smaller with a different bullet style. If you ever need to change the level of bulleted items (e.g., going from Second to First), use the Promote/Demote buttons located on the toolbar.
