Printing Presentations

PowerPoint allows the user to print presentations in various forms. These forms
could be used by both the user and the audience and it is advisable to explore
the different forms.
To print a presentation, go to the File in the menu bar and
click on Print.
In the Print dialog window, several options will be available to
you. See the graphic below to learn the various areas of the Print
window.
In the area that asks you to Print What, there are four
forms to choose from. Just click on the down arrow next to the text
box under Print What. Each form has a unique purpose. The
different types of print are given below.
- Slides - Prints the entire slide on one page. Used for
creating overhead transparencies.
- Handouts - Prints 2, 3, 4, 6, or 9 slides on one page.
Also, allows you to choose Horizontal (left-right) or Vertical
(up-down) layout. Used mainly to distribute a copy of the
presentation to the audience.
- Notes Pages - Prints a copy of the slide on the upper
half of a page and typewritten notes on the lower half of the
page. Used mainly by presenters to help them keep on track and
cover information that is vital.
- Outline View - Prints an outline of the text divided by
each slide. Only the text will be shown in this form. Graphics
will not be printed. Used mainly by presenters to keep on
track.
