Saving Presentations

When saving a presentation for the first time or saving an existing presentation with a new name, you will have to perform a Save As rather than a Save command. To perform this function, go to File and click on Save As. A Save As dialog box will appear like the one below:

To save your presentation, follow the steps below:

Once you have saved the presentation, resaving it is quite easy. The best way to save an existing presentation is by clicking on the Save button located on the toolbar.

The Pack and Go feature is a way of saving presentations to ensure that everything remains the same (e.g., font styles, bullets, graphics, animation, color) when you travel from one computer to another. The Pack and GoWizard allows you to retain the linked files and True Type Fonts even though you are exporting the presentation to another computer. Also, you can tell the Pack and GoWizard to include a PowerPoint Viewer so that computers without PowerPoint can still play your presentation. To perform a Pack and Go, go to File and click on Pack and Go. Then, follow the directions and answer any questions that the Wizard may prompt you.

In addition, PowerPoint also has the option to save PowerPoint slides as HTML so that the presentation can be uploaded to the Web. To perform this task, go to File and click on Save as Web Page.
