PowerPoint has many different design templates to choose from depending upon the purpose and topic of your presentation. Design templates have predesigned colors, shapes, etc. that the user can select and the design layout differs between the Title Slide and the Body Slide. Some design templates have animated effects (e.g., Pulse, High Voltage, Ribbons). It is difficult to remove the animation in the design templates. Therefore, if you do not want animation to occur, then do not use that particular design template.

To use a design template in the slideshow, go to Format in the menu bar and click on Apply Design Template.

A window will appear with several different template names on the left-hand side. To preview the template, just click on the template name and you will see a snapshot of the design in the right-hand side of the window.  When you find one to use, just click the Apply button.
