View
Buttons

Regardless of the PowerPoint version being used, common view buttons will be
found toward the bottom of the application window. The graphic below illustrates
the types of buttons one may find. For users of Office 2000, the button for
Notes Page is missing. However, you can use this feature by going to View in
the menu bar.
The following describes each of the buttons and its
purpose:
- Slide View - Allows users to enter text, add images,
edit elements, and add animated effects. This feature is referred
to as WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get). To edit elements of
a slide, one has come to this view mode.
- Outline View - Shows the title and body text of the
slides in an outline format. One can rearrange and edit slides at
a glance here. However, elements such graphics, WordArt, or draw
objects will not be displayed in this mode.
- Slide Sorter View - Shows miniatures of all the slides.
One can quickly rearrange, copy, delete, and apply special effects
such as transitions to the slides.
- Notes Page View - Displays a slide with a text box for
speaker's notes.
- Slide Show View - Run and preview the final
product.
Toggling between these views could also be accomplished by going
to View on the menu bar.
